Criminal Justice Pathway at BHS Offers Hands-On Learning with Visits from Decatur County Sheriff's Department and GBI Agent

Deputy Hughes from the Decatur County Sheriff's Department visited Bainbridge High School to provide an in-depth lesson on the Sex Offender Registry, explaining role law enforcement plays in monitoring offenders to ensure community safety. As part of Bainbridge High School's Criminal Justice Pathway, this visit offered students valuable insights into the responsibilities of local law enforcement, giving them firsthand exposure to the practical aspects of criminal justice.

Last Thursday, GBI Agent Cheryl Nix visited Bainbridge High School to deliver an insightful lesson on human trafficking to Officer Akins' Introduction to Law class. Agent Nix shared real-world examples, discussed the signs of trafficking, and provided crucial information on prevention and reporting, sparking meaningful conversations with students.

These collaborations with local and state law enforcement are integral to the CTAE program, preparing students for future careers by connecting them directly with professionals in the field.
